Our Quality Standards

Whilst on the surface, great design might appear to be all about style colour and comfort there are a number of core values that underpin all of our products.

These are the quality of the components that we use and the attention to detail that goes into selecting them.

We constantly address and feedback the performance of our own suppliers in the knowledge that a reliable supply chain is critical to our retail customers.

Fabrics

Our fabric selection process isn't just about presenting a product that looks good, it also means presenting something that really works and meets with our exacting quality standards.

Certificated performance reports, from a UKAS accredited laboratory are always sought, and verified, before we present a new fabric to our customers.

Unless specifically requested, we work to the current UK general domestic standard of compliance on all body fabrics, testing for FR compliance in addition to wear ability, and colour fastness.

A rigorous in-house schedule of testing is strictly maintained and updated throughout the life of a fabric range, ensuring quality standards never slip. We work with our suppliers to ensure that critical testing regimes are always adhered to, as well as carrying out our own periodic due diligence testing, again, always via a UKAS accredited laboratory.

Frames

We strive to make sure all our products are built on the strongest foundation.

Our frames are built in our own local workshops, using only quality kiln dried Baltic hardwoods, alongside a range of sustainable, furniture grade panel products, which are only ever sourced from sustainable sources.

Timbers are hand selected, before being machined to pattern, then individually hand assembled using pins, screws and glue.

Testing our frames to BS EN 1022:2005 and BS EN 12520:2010 standard is regularly carried out by the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) who are accredited to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by UKAS ensuring that all their tests are carried out to the very highest standards

Interiors

To ensure the comfort of our furniture matches its good looks, we put the same amount of effort into sourcing our comprehensive range of fillings options, as we do our fabrics and frame components.

All of our interiors are supplied to us by long established UK experts, backed up by the same continuous testing regime we apply to all other areas of our sourcing.

Interiors are an integral part of upholstered furniture, and it is paramount that they are able to endure the rigours of day to day use.

We ensure all interiors we use undertake a series of industry standard tests to evaluate performance, flammability, pounding, hardness and suitability for use.
