Senior IT Support Assistant

 

Based at Orchard Way, reporting the IT Manager the successful candidate will assist in supporting and maintaining a wide range of technologies including but not limited to, Infrastructure, Networks, Telephony, Servers, Back up and Security, Computers, Software and user support across multiple sites. Databases include Sage, Filemaker, CaptureIT and Winman.

 

Duties will include, PC setup and installation, day-to-day troubleshooting and user support, installing hardware and software updates on user machines, assisting with testing of company processes and functionality of new software, assisting with the training and support of staff and ensure competency with department manager, assisting with maintenance and development of the Company’s database software, day to day support & maintenance of servers and infrastructure.

 

The successful applicant will have experience with Microsoft Server 2012 in a virtual environment, have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 – 2016, knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database and Group Policy experience would prove beneficial.  In addition, the successful applicant must have a high attention to detail and be able to see projects through to an acceptable outcome for all concerned, have a personal responsibility and attitude towards Health and Safety and ensure all activities promote a safe working environment and have a personal responsibility and attitude towards security and Data Protection.

Hours of work: 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday

Shuttle Van Driver

Based at Orchard Way, reporting to the Factory Manager, the main purpose of this role is to drive between the manufacturing sites to collect items required for daily production.

Duties include:

  • Returning faulty / incorrect items to relevant personnel off site and ensuring return in time to meet production deadlines
  • Ensure correct items & quantities are loaded
  • Responsible for storage of goods in designated store/area in factory
  • Load/unload vehicle (with assistance if required) in line with manual handling guidelines
  • Drive vehicle in a safe manner following traffic rules and regulations
  • Liaise with production staff throughout the day
  • Perform daily checks on vehicle and report any defects immediately to Works Manager
  • Keep vehicle clean & maintained at all times
  • Responsible for your own and others Health & Safety at work
  • Ensuring good housekeeping is maintained
  • You may be asked to carry out additional tasks within your capability, in order to meet the needs of the business.

The successful candidate must be over 25 and have a full clean driving licence and have an excellent attendance & timekeeping record, be able to remain calm under pressure and have a pleasant, positive and helpful manner.  Excellent communication skills are paramount to this role.

Hours of work: 39 hours per week 7.30am-4.00pm Monday – Thursday and 7.30am – 3.00pm Friday.  It is expected that you will be able to finish your work within your normal hours. However, you may be requested to work additional hours if it is necessary to meet customer demand.

Skilled Upholsterer

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Upholsterer based at Sutton.

With at least 5 years upholstery experience the successful applicant will have experience in a variety of skills and methods in the manufacturing of quality domestic upholstered furniture from pre-upholstery to finished product.  The successful applicant will have to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and flexibility.

The successful candidate must also adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and Quality Standards.

Hours of work will be 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday from 7.30am – 4.00pm and Friday from 7.30am – 3.00pm.

Despatch Co-ordinator – Orchard Way (Twilight Shift)

Based at Orchard Way, reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Company’s products are delivered to its customers, on time, of the correct specification and that the appropriate paperwork is completed.

Main Duties include:

  • Working with production staff throughout the day to ensure deadlines are met
  • Monitor and assist loading & packaging to help loading/bagging staff carry out their duties correctly using the Company’s ‘Packaging Specification’
  • Responsible for ensuring all relevant paperwork is on the product before loading
  • Ensure that Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
  • Direct the work of loading personnel & oversee related activities
  • Manage inventory of stock and re ordering of items required
  • Responsible for safe storage of completed orders ready for despatch
  • Document actions by completing forms, reports and records where required
  • Assist in developing policies & procedures to improve operation of despatch
  • Investigate & report any despatch/operational discrepancies
  • Responsible for the securing of the premises
  • Ensure prompt delivery of all goods in the warehouse.
  • Able to locate all orders in warehouse and traceability on delivered orders.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience working in a warehouse environment in a team leader capacity, having experience of stock control.  The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and determined, in additional to having excellent planning and organisational skills and be able to demonstrate good delegation skills.  An awareness of health & safety at work will also prove advantageous.

Hours of work: 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 2.30pm – 12.45am including ½ hour unpaid lunch).

Deputy Production Co-ordinator (Issuing Work) - Sutton

Based at Sutton, reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance and cover to the Production Co-ordinator. The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate daily production requirements through receiving and allocating cut and sewn work.

Main Duties include:

  • Receive cut and sewn work from both internal and external sources, responsible for checking work to ensure present and correct.
  • Responsible for chasing any missing / incorrect work direct with the relevant Supervisors / Managers to ensure load points are made.
  • Responsible for allocating work into the Upholstery Teams and to the Cushion Fillers as determined by the daily / weekly production plan, with help from the Production & Quality Supervisor.
  • Responsible for communicating any foreseeable difficulties completing daily production targets as soon as possible to the Production Supervisor.
  • Responsible for distributing and collecting Upholsterers and Machinists Worksheet at the beginning and end of each working day.
  • Communicate any quality concerns with the Production Supervisor.
  • Responsible for own and others Health & Safety at work.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping is maintained

 

The successful candidate will have experience of working within a production environment and be able to demonstrate their ability to adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and Quality Standards. They must have excellent communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to motivate others and problem solve. 3 years’ experience in a team leader position would prove advantageous but not essential.

 

Hours of work: 39 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 7.30am -4.00pm and Friday 7.30am – 3.00pm including a 30 minute unpaid lunch)

Wood Machinist – Export Drive Frames Dept

 

Based at Export Drive Frames Department, reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for machining timber and board material to the required specification in the correct order to enable the kitters to supply the assembly operation with the correct parts

Main Duties include:

·         To ensure the smooth running of parts from the woodmill to the kitting area.

·         To be able to follow the order in which parts are machined as per the woodmill weekly production list.

·         To be able to use in a proficient manor, standard wood working machinery such as – Band Saw, Dimension Saw and Pedestal Drill, knowledge of C.N.C. machinery would be advantageous.

·         To be able to read and follow instructions from both cutting lists and patterns.

·         Ensure that the Preventive Maintenance book for each machine that is used, is kept up to date.

·         Understand and comply to any Health & Safety regulations that are appertaining to the

·         area that you are working in, particularly with regard to PPE equipment.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a lead manufacturing environment, be able to use at least three of the standard wood working machines (e.g. Band Saw, Panel/Dimension Saw, Pillar Drill, X-Cut Saw) and be willing to learn how to use other machines in the woodmill. The successful candidate will also embrace the continuous improvement methodology and adhere to Health & Safety and Quality standards. In addition, they must demonstrate initiative, a high quality of work, the ability to work as a team member and contribute to a positive attitude in the workplace.

Hours of work: 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 12.15am including ½ hour unpaid break).
